More than 200 people have died in historic floods which Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, has described as the worst natural disaster in the country's recent history.

Thousands of troops and police officers were drafted to help with clean-up and searches. Anger rose among residents who felt abandoned by the government and King Felipe and Queen Letizia were heckled when they visited one of the worst-affected areas.
