US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller mentioned significant progress towards a resolution, though nothing is final. Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon indicated that Israel aims to push Hezbollah north of the Litani River, with details of the deal suggesting a withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon. The Lebanese army would police the area, overseen by a US-led group. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock echoed the optimism at a G7 meeting. Meanwhile, fighting continues in Gaza without a ceasefire in sight.
