Gisèle Pélicot, 72, was applauded by dozens of supporters as she arrived at a court in the southern French city of Avignon, where the trial of her husband, Dominique, and 50 other men accused of rape resumed on Tuesday.

The hearing was adjourned last week after the 71-year-old retired electrician, who has admitted drugging his wife and inviting up to 90 men to rape her while he filmed the attacks over a nine-year period, was taken to hospital for tests for a reported urine infection and prostate problems.
